The genesis of the EPFL Rolex Learning Center (part I)

On the site of the EPFL (Ecole Poly Federale Lausanne, Switzerland) an outstanding building is being constructed since a few month. In November 2007 I started documenting the progress on site with a few photographs per week.

The idea behind the project is actually to overlay a large number of different snapshots – each of them with a very low opacity – in order to visualize the process of “growing” from a hole in the ground to the final building.

On a regular basis, I will upload another photograph, showing the actual status of the construction.
By the end of 2009 the project is supposed to be finished. We will see …
